JEDDAH - A number of private security companies are facing closure because many establishments are directly employing security guards to meet their Saudization quotas, Makkah daily reported. These companies are also providing better salaries and other benefits to their guards, putting security companies under even greater pressure to keep their employees from resigning, especially as they already face a staff shortage. The head of the security committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani, estimated that there are around 55,000 vacancies in these companies. "Many security companies have had to cancel contracts due to such shortages and a number of large companies are resorting to fake Saudization, where they employ security guards but do **t ask them to attend work," he said.
