https://www.thenews.com.pk/assets/uploads/akhbar/2017-07-25/l_218770_055428_print.jpg ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday again postponed his press conference, saying that it was inappropriate to talk about political matters after the Lahore bombing. “In view of the unfortunate incident of Lahore blast, I am **t cancelling but postponing the press conference,” he told media persons here at the Punjab House.
The minister said he had planned to talk about extremely important issues but after the incident (Lahore blast), “I don’t consider it appropriate to talk about politics.” Nisar said he was also **t feeling well and it was quite difficult for him to sit due to backache. “Doctors have advised me bed rest. I will talk about politics in a day or two,” he added.
Meanwhile, Nisar has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the manhandling of journalists by the FIA officials at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.The committee comprises senior ******rs from the Interior Ministry, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD). Deputy Commissioner Islamabad would also be a member of the committee.
The committee was directed to investigate the matter and submit a report within the next 24-four hours, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior said on Monday.The committee recorded the statements of Aun Sahi (Bureau Chief Chanel 24), Aitzaz (journalist), Saba Bajeer (complainant) and two accused ******rs of the FIA.The committee also listened to the PFUJ President Afzal Butt and other prominent journalists. The committee will submit its report on Tuesday (today).
