KARACHI: The Federal Anti-Corruption Court has indicted former president of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), along with various other officials, for corruption of over Rs21 billion. The court has also ordered NBP President Saeed Ahmad to appear before the court with all records.

The hearing of Rs21 billion corruption case was held in the Federal Anti-Corruption Court, in which the court indicted former president of NBP along with 13 other officials for corruption. The court also ordered NBP President Saeed Ahmad to present all records before the court.

Thirteen officials were indicted in this case, including NBP’s top officials, NBP’s former president Syed Ali Raza and Pakistan Banking Council Chairman Tajammal Hussain. According to the anti-corruption court, the people accused in this case embezzled the bank’s funds during their employment term between 2003 and 2008. In the name of employees, the officials looted all the money. The court further added that the officials also did corruption in bank welfare funds. The court ordered the investigation ******r to come along with witnesses in the next hearing.
