He advised the prime minister for tendering the resignation, saying that the democratic system could only be saved with the resignation of Nawaz Sharif.

“New things came out when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT), and if the Volume 10 of its report is made public, then Nawaz will face more embarrassment,” he said, while talking to newsmen outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan along with PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira and PPP Punjab Secretary General Nadeem Afzal Chan.

Syed Khursheed Shah said the prime minister should **t further go in the depth of this case as he will get further trapped. The opposition leader said the incumbent government itself was the biggest threat to parliament and democracy at the moment, and the role of the apex court should **t be questioned.

In a reply to a question, the opposition leader said the PPP did **t make any objection when its own prime minister was disqualified, and how was it possible that it could **t **w accept the verdict of the Supreme Court.

Khursheed Shah said that the accountability should **t be limited to politicians and rulers only, bureaucrats and retired generals should also be held accountable. Qamar Zaman Kaira said Sharifs will **t be able to show their face anywhere once the video recordings of the JIT are made public.

He said the bench has set aside the objections raised by the Sharif family to the JIT report. The former information minister said the judges, during Tuesday’s hearing, repeatedly asked the Sharif family’s counsel to provide any evidence in their defence.

Nadeem Afzal Chan an**unced to support institutions which protect the law and the constitution of this country. He denied the reports of leaving the PPP, saying that let it be k**wn that he is **t leaving the party. “I don’t do politics on the base of relationships,” he said.

Sabah adds: Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of Supreme Court Bar Association, Khursheed Shah said that the rulers’ stubbornness was posing a threat to democracy in the country. Shah warned the government that if Volume 10 of the JIT report was made public they would **t be able to face the people. Shah said they were **t protecting the government rather Parliament and democracy. He added that it had been a distinction of PPP to save democracy.
