According to Screen Rant (http://screenrant.com/wonder-woman-2-movie-setting-chris-pine/) and TheWrap (http://www.thewrap.com/wonder-woman-sequel-setting-details-revealed/), the DC superhero sequel will take place in the midst of the Cold War, with Diana battling the Soviet Union. This would seem to square with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins' recent suggestion that the sequel will be set in more "contemporary" times.
