What if HTC built the world’s best smartphone and **body cared… again?

It wants to make high-end products on par with the iPhone but it lacks both the fanatically loyal customer base (http://bgr.com/2014/03/14/apple-vs-samsung-customer-loyalty/) and the*platform ecosystem that Apple counts as two of its greatest assets. And HTC (http://bgr.com/tag/htc) doesn't have the massive manufacturing capabilities*to be like Samsung, whose strategy for selling smartphones is much*like a certain classic Monty Python sketch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_(Monty_Python)): "Spam, spam, spam, spam! Spam, spam, spam, spam!"
