“We have arrested all the three suspects,” said Arif Javed, the assistant superintendent of police, while speaking at a news conference here on Saturday.
Javed, who leads an investigation team that was constituted by Deputy Inspector General of the Hazara police Saeed Wazir following circulation of a video on social media, said that Mohammad Aslam, Mujahid Fareed and Mohammad Saeed had been arrested and produced in a court.
“The court has handed them over to the police for five days physical custody,” said Javed. He said it was the first-ever case in which sections of Cybercrime Act 2016 were incorporated.
“We want to send a message to such beasts that they should think hundreds of times before committing such a crime or taking the law into their own hands,” he said.
He said that **body in any society could tolerate such a gruesome act and it was why the police inquiry was being conducted impartially and in accordance with existing laws.
