Algeria condemns Beirut bombings

Algiers, Feb 20 (IANS) Algeria has strongly condemned Wednesday's twin bombings in the Leba**n's capital city of Beirut which killed six people. "Algeria condemns in the strongest manner the attack that occurred Wednesday at Bir Hassan near the Iranian cultural centre," Xinhua quoted Amar Belani, spokesperson for the foreign ministry as saying. "In these tragic circumstances, we extend our condolences to families of the victims and reiterate the firm commitment of Algeria to the security and stability of Leba**n," he added. Earlier Wednesday, at least six people were killed in twin suicide car bombings that targetted the Iranian Cultural Center in Beirut, media reported.
