Google Shows Flight **tifications
Back in August, Google released an experiment (https://www.google.com/experimental/gmailfieldtrial) that integrated Google Search with Gmail. Besides returning results from Gmail, Google also detects flight-related confirmation messages so that it can show additional information for your upcoming flights. You can try this feature by searching for [my flights (http://www.google.com/search?q=my+flights)], as documented here (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2012/08/building-search-engine-of-future-one.html).

What Google doesn't mention is that it also shows flight **tifications. They look just like the Google+ birthday reminders (https://plus.google.com/u/0/108202274299391625681/posts/DbZkQ1edr6Q).

Flight **tifications aren't a new feature (someone spotted (http://cl.ly/Jae6) it in September), but I thought it's worth mentioning it. There's a lot of valuable information that can be obtained from Gmail messages, as you can see from the latest Google **w update (http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2012/10/google-**w-cards-use-gmail-data.html), which shows cards for flights, packages, hotel reservations, event bookings and more. Maybe Google **w will have a desktop interface and it will replace some of the iGoogle features.
