Don’t count your chickens before they hatch — especially if they're 11 feet long and weigh 600 pounds, like the "chicken from hell" di**saur scientists introduced to the world on Wednesday.

The di**saur lived about 66 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period and somewhat resembles a modern-day emu or cassowary — if an emu had 4-inch claws. Its main unappealing characteristics include those treacherous claws, toothless beak and feathered appearance. While the beast's fossils were discovered over a decade ago in the **rth and South Dakotas, scientists introduced its scientific name and analyzed it fully for the first time in the journal PLOS One (http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0092022;jsessi onid=FF389D224092D12F6D2047E4B2CD4E5B) on Wednesday.
