Social media is great for finding unique content from sources you might **t otherwise visit — but loyalty still matters in the news business. That's according to new data (http://www.journalism.org/2014/03/13/social-search-direct/) from the Pew Research Journalism Project (http://www.journalism.org/).

Readers who visit a publication's homepage spend nearly three times as long on the site as those who visit via Facebook (http://mashable.com/category/facebook/?utm_medium=feed&utm_source=rss) or a web search, according to Pew's data

Those loyal homepage users visit more than four times as many pages on the site in a given month, and visit the site overall nearly three times as often
