French officials have opened an investigation into the possibility that a deadly Egypt Air crash in May 2016 (http://mashable.com/2016/05/18/egypt-air-flight-disappears/) could have been caused by a fire resulting from two Apple products overheating.
The report comes from French paper Le Parisen (http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-divers/crash-d-egyptair-des-experts-se-penchent-sur-des-iphone-et-des-ipad-26-05-2017-6984861.php?via=newsletter&source=CSAMedition) (via Business Insider (http://www.businessinsider.com/france-investigate-apple-iphone-ipad-may-cause-egyptair-plane-crash-2017-5)), which says French investigators are pursuing a theory that a pair of mobile devices – a iPhone 6S and an iPad Mini 4 belonging to the plane's first ******r — may have been plugged into an incorrect socket.
