Vows to launch protest drive against loadshedding
SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Sunday welcomed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Sindh and also gave him a sound advice. "I will advise Imran Khan **t to bring back the tsunami in Sindh that he took with him to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The damage that he has done in KP should **t be repeated in Sindh," Shah urged. He said that the people of KP were **t happy with Imran Khan whatever he had done in KP
He was talking to the media during a protest against power shortages in the country outside the press club. "We have completely failed in the matter of Kulbhushan Yadav," he said. He said the government did **t do any planning over the issue, adding the PML-N government had failed to provide electricity to the people. He said Pakistan will **t accept international pressure in the Yadav case.
He said the PML-N government could **t and will **t provide electricity to the people. He said that even electricity loadshedding of eight to 10 hours was being observed in Punjab. He said the progress made in Sindh during the PPP's tenure could **t have happened in the history of the province. He said 50 percent industry had been shut in Punjab, adding that exports of country had been decreased by $6 billion.
Shah said the PPP during its five years' tenure had increased the salaries of government employees by 135 percent and pensions by 110 percent, adding that the current government has increased salaries of the government employees by 30 percent and pensions by 25 percent.
Praising the courageous operation by security agencies which resulted in the arrest of a serving Indian agent, Shah said the government should resolve the issue according to our own laws.
About the issues facing the country, Shah said protests against loadshedding are a daily affair. He claimed that the agriculture sector had been completely destroyed due to the federal government's flawed policies in the last four years.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's policies are damaging the Federation and clarified that his party (PPP) has ** reconciliation policy with the ruling party i.e. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz. He said the smaller provinces were being treated like stepmother.
"We have to fulfill the promises made to the people that PPP's demonstrations against power outages are for the entire country and it would be staged all across the country," he said. He vowed to launch a strong protest drive against loadshedding. We had ended loadshedding from the country in Ramazan, he added. The government could **t provide power in the Ramazan while we had eliminated power loadshedding in Ramzan, he added. He said the PPP added 3,500 megawatt electricity during its tenure. He said the PML N government has just added 1,300 megawatt electricity in the national grid. Shah claimed that there is shortfall of 6,500 to 7,000 megawatt electricity in the country. He said the government is unable to provide uninterrupted electricity to people during Ramazan. "I m confused and angry over Nawaz Sharif s effort to weaken the smaller provinces. The government's promises to end power outages have failed miserably," he said.
Khursheed Shah said that the government did **t plan effectively in Kulbhushan Yadav's case. He urged to make decision over the matter in the light of the Pakistani law. Shah said that the verdict of Kulbhushan Yadav case went in favour of India. Shah said there is ** foreign policy of Pakistan. Shah said the prime minister did **t mention the name of Kulbhushan in the United Nations. The government should **t bow down to international pressure and take decision according to the law and the Constitution, Shah said. The government has destroyed agriculture in its four-year rule.
