Explosive-laden truck destroyed on Afghan border
PARACHINAR: Two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers on duty in the Kurram Agency sustained injuries in shelling by the Afghan forces, official sources said on Friday.
The sources said that the FC soldiers were constructing a wall near the Gwanda Checkpost along the border with Afghanistan in lower parts of Kurram Agency when the Afghan forces opened fire on them. As a result, the sources said FC soldiers identified as Luqman Haider and Suleman sustained injuries in the firing.
The FC troops returned the fire, forcing the Afghan soldiers to stop firing on the Pakistani soldiers. Also in Kurram Agency, security forces destroyed an explosives-laden truck at the Borki Checkpost on the Afghan border.
The sources said the truck was entering the Kurram Agency from the Paktia province of Afghanistan when the FC and Levies personnel fired at it. The truck exploded due to the firing by the soldiers, the sources added. However, there was ** report about any casualty in the explosion.
