Indi Augmentative and Alternative Communication Device for **n-Verbal People

Tobii Dynavox, a Swedish company that focuses on building devices that help people with various communication issues to get their voices out. Their new Indi device is a touchscreen tablet targeted for **n-verbal communicators, designed to make it easier to talk with those around using pictures that are turned into sentences. Though most users will simply rely on its touchscreen interface, it can also be connected to a switch or head mouse for disabled folks.
The device has pretty large speakers for a tablet this size, helping to project its voice in **isy situations. It runs Tobii Dynavox’s Snap software on top of a ******* 10 operating system. Snap picks which words to offer to use depending on the context of conversations.
The Indi can also be used for email, social networking, and interfacing with digital switches and wireless thermostats, helping to promote independence.
