Diamondbacks Outright Santos Rodriguez
The Diamondbacks have outrighted left-handed reliever Santos Rodriguez (http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi**rs/player.cgi?id=rodrig002san&utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com) to Triple-A Re**, the club an**unced via press release. The move opens roster space for Oliver Perez (http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/perezol01.shtml?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com), whose signing was an**unced by the club earlier today.
Arizona had*claimed (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/01/diamondbacks-claim-santos-rodriguez.html) Rodriguez back in January from the White Sox. He was a mainstay on Baseball America's list of Chicago's top 30 prospects from 2009-13. Last year, Rodriguez was stellar at the Double-A level, posting a*2.35 ERA (with 25 strikeouts against 14 walks) in 23 innings. He struggled at Triple-A, however, putting up a lackluster 7.30 mark with 36 strikeouts and 27 walks in 24 2/3 frames.
