Apple's widely rumored iPhone with an OLED display will feature a polished stainless steel enclosure sandwiched between front and back glass, says Japanese blog Mac Otakara (http://www.macotakara.jp/blog/rumor/entry-32302.html). That's the same iPhone 4-like design that reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/ming-chi-kuo/) of KGI Securities has expected since last year (https://www.macrumors.com/2016/09/29/2017-iphone-stainless-steel-high-end/).

The blog claims the so-called "iPhone Edition" will use an improved version of the Apple Watch's stainless steel enclosure. It also says the smartphone, more commonly dubbed "iPhone 8 (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/iphone-8/)" for **w, will have a conventionally flat OLED display with 2.5D cover glass (https://www.macrumors.com/2017/03/16/oled-iphone-flat-with-slightly-curved-edges/) along the edges, as rumored previously.
As seen in a few (https://www.macrumors.com/2017/04/17/iphone-8-renderings-minimal-bezels/) renders (https://www.macrumors.com/2017/04/13/potential-iphone-8-foxconn-render/) over the past few weeks, the report claims the "iPhone Edition" will be equipped with a vertically-aligned iSight Duo camera (https://www.macrumors.com/2016/12/27/rumor-5-inch-iphone-7s-dual-vertical-camera/) on the rear for VR shooting purposes. Accordingly, when the iPhone is used in a VR headset, the cameras would be positioned horizontally as is customary.
Meanwhile, the tentatively named iPhone 7 (https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/iphone-7/)s and iPhone 7s Plus are expected to be slightly thicker than the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, meaning that some existing cases and accessories might **t fit the newer models. From a cosmetic standpoint, however, those smartphones are expected to look similar.
