https://www.thenews.com.pk/assets/uploads/updates/2017-03-30/l_195511_045203_updates.jpg RAWALPINDI: A convicted terrorist belonging to the banned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) was hanged in District Jail Kohat, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
“ Today a**ther hardcore terrorist, who was involved in committing hei**us offences relating to terrorism, including attacks on Bannu Jail and Law Enforcement Agencies has been executed at District Jail Kohat. The convict was tried by military court,” said the statement.
The ISPR said Tahir, son of Shah Jehan, was an active member of the TTP and involved in attacking/breaking of Bannu Jail owing to which number of terrorists managed to escape from the Jail.
“He was also involved in attacks on Law Enforcement Agencies which resulted in death of a soldier and injuries to a**ther soldier. He admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence,” the statement said.
