**WSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Sunday the future belonged to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as the party had introduced corruption-free politics and good governance.
“The country needs honest leadership which is possible only in the shape of PTI Chairman Imran Khan,” he said while speaking at two different public meetings in Azakhel Bala and Dagai Qadeem.
Several workers from different political parties, including Awami National Party (ANP) such as Baidar Muhammad, Yaseen Khan, Tahir Gul, Naveedullah, Ali Khan, Wajid Khan, Sajjad Khan, Naeemullah, and Taoos Khan along with friends joined the PTI.
Excise and Taxation Minister Mian Jamshedududin Kakakhel, District Nazim Liaquat Khan Khattak, Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, Akhtar Ali Khan, Ahad Khattak, Taj Badshah and Zulfiqar Khan addressed the gatherings as well.
Pervez Khattak believed that the PTI had emerged as the most popular political party of the country. “** conspiracy will succeed against the party, come what may,” he said as he criticised the rivals.
The chief minister said Sajid Mashwani of the PTI had won the by-election of the Risalpur Cantonment by a big margin. “The ANP must have realised its own standing. The sureties of the candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party stood forfeited,” he added while referring to the by-poll which was arranged to fill in the post of vice-president which had fallen vacant after the death of Abid Mashwani.
The chief minister said the religio-political and political parties which opposed the PTI were themselves facing grouping and frictions. “The masses have realised that they ** more need tainted politicians who made it to the corridors of power through their votes but later forgot them,” he went to add.
Without naming any rivals, Pervez Khattak said that there were politicians who had been voted by the poor people but they never visited their constituents. “**w these politicians have become active again and are seen at weddings and funerals only because the general elections are due next year,” he added.
Pervez Khattak said he and his family members were in politics to serve the people. “I, Liaquat Khan Khattak, Dr Imran Khattak and Ishaq Khattak have been living among our constituents since our elections. This bond spans 35 years,” he said with a sense of pride.
The chief minister said that the PTI came into power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the people put trust in them in the last general election. “I am also grateful to the people of **wshera for their love and trust. If I am the chief minister, it is because of their trust in me,” he added.
The chief minister enumerated a number of steps which the PTI-led provincial good took to reform the institutions. “The police jobs have been upgraded. The salaries of cops will go up and that will bring them on a par with their counterparts in Punjab,” he elaborated.
Pervez Khattak said drastic steps were taken to improve the educational system which, according to him, had gone outdated. “We have recruited 45,000 teachers and more would be employed. Boundary walls have been constructed in 28,000 schools along with classrooms and washrooms,” added the chief minister.
He said the provincial government improved the health sector as well. “The shortage of doctors, nurses and paramedics at the hospitals has been met by making more appointments. A total of 18 million people have been issued ‘Sehat Ka Insaf Cards’ to receive free treatment,” he explained.
