Colgate-Palmolive has partnered with Draper, an engineering firm, to develop a platform that models*human gum tissues to help them*develop new oral care products. The device is based on Draper’s human organ systems (HOS) tech**logy and works by introducing prepositioned samples of human cells to different ***** and chemical compounds. While within the device, the cells live in a well regulated environment that can be tweaked to mimic specific conditions.
The system has the capability to test large groups of cells originating from different demographic groups, potentially helping to create more targeted new products. This can help spot a product’s benefits as well as potential side effects that may go un**ticed without such an approach to testing. We’re certainly looking forward to anything new, whitening, and interesting that may come out thanks to the oral model.
