KARACHI: Pakistan based leadership of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday decided to remove Mustafa Azizabadi, Wasay Jalil and Qasim Ali Raza from the Rabita Committee for supporting Altaf Hussain against party policy that was formed after the eventful day of August 22.
The decision to remove the senior leaders of the MQM from the Rabita Committee, the main decision-making body of the party, was taken at a meeting in Karachi that took place at the residence of Farooq Sattar, following a statement by Nadeem Nusrat who said "MQM was **thing without Altaf Hussain", rejecting the so-called minus-one formula.

With MQM’s constitution amended, the party doesn’t need to seek Altaf Hussain’s approval of its decisions anymore. Senior analyst and political commentator Mazhar Abbas, while talking to Geo News, said that the decision may elicit a similar response from London-based leadership of the MQM.
MQM landed in trouble after Altaf Hussain’s August 22 speech, in which he made anti-Pakistan remarks and asked his followers to attack media houses.
The party has faced a *****down after the speech, with authorities demolishing scores of its ******s and sealing many others.
