Lawyers observe strike for LHC Sahiwal bench

PAKPATTAN: Lawyers of District Bar Association, Pakpattan and Tehsil Bar Association, Arifwala, Friday staged a strike, urging the government to issue **tification of the Sahiwal bench of the Lahore High Court. ** lawyer appeared before any judge.

VALUABLES TAKEN AWAY: Thieves took away cash and valuables on Friday. Reportedly, accused Dilawar and his accomplices entered the house of Bakhtawar Ali of Chak 77/EB in the guise of guests and stole gold ornaments, clothes, cell phones at night.

BOOTLEGGERS HELD: Police arrested bootleggers and recovered liquor from their possession. Reportedly, police arrested accused Amjad Ali from the graveyard of Pir Sultan with five litre liquor, accused Iqbal of Kameer with 10 litre liquor, accused Karma from graveyard of Pir Sultan with 120 gram charas, and accused Afzal of Chak Bonga Hayat with 1,020 gram charas. Police have registered cases.

WOMAN THRASHED: A woman was thrashed over a land dispute on Friday.

Reportedly, Asghar Ali and his accomplices entered the house of Mehr Din of Chak 159/EB and thrashed his wife and tore her clothes. They also took away goats and other valuables from the house. Police have registered a case.

SECTION 144 IMPOSED: District Coordination ******r (DCO) Irfan Ahmad Sindhu Friday imposed section 144 around examination centres in the district. The DCO banned entry of unauthorised persons in the centres of SSC examination halls. The ban will remain intact till the completion of the examination in district Pakpattan.
