SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will have to answer questions about the Panama Papers.
Talking to media persons after offering the Eid prayers here on Tuesday, Khursheed Shah regretted that the prime minister was **t attending parliament regularly. He said the prime minister is **t fully aware of the powers of parliament, otherwise, he would **t have adopted such an attitude towards the elected House and the nation. He said it was parliament which saved the government of Nawaz Sharif, otherwise, the time to pack up the government had come.
The opposition leader said if the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) joins any rally or sit-in, its sole purpose is to promote democracy because they are supporters of democracy in the country. He said that important problems and challenges facing the country would be raised in the coming session of the National Assembly.
Answering a question about the Pak-India relations, Khursheed Shah said the prime minister expects good behaviour from his Indian counterpart but the reality is quite opposite. -- INP NNI adds: The Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq contacted Khursheed Shah on Wednesday and wished him on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Azha.
Both the leaders exchanged views on the PanamaLeaks and the present political situation in the country. The JI chief said the government did **t want an investigation into the PanamaLeaks issue and was **t willing to come out of corruption and commission culture.
He said that if the government wanted to end corruption, then it would have formed an investigation commission by **w. Siraj also telephoned Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and lauded his national services.
