Eight terrorists killed, one security force personnel embraces martyrdom; huge cache of arms recovered
RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Saturday launched a combing operation in the Gayandari area of Rajanpur and killed at least eight militants (also k**wn as feraris) while a member of forces embraced martyrdom. The Gayandari area borders Balochistan and Punjab.
Security forces apprehended a number of militants besides recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed in a news release.
The combing operation, which was continuing till the filing of the report, was part of the ongoing *****down on the militants being carried out by troops across Pakistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations statement added that there were still outlaws with arms and ammunition hiding in Gayandari.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar Police claimed to have foiled a major terror bid and recovered a huge cache of ******* hidden in a car.
On a tip-off, the Peshawar police checked a car and found Indian-made *******, including 25 pistols, eight rifles and over 200 cartridges.
The police also arrested three suspects, including the driver, and shifted them to the area police station for investigation.
