The FAA released a statement Thursday urging passengers **t to turn on or plug in their Samsung Galaxy **te7 devices while traveling on airplanes.

After reports of the phone's batteries exploding (http://mashable.com/2016/08/31/galaxy-**te-7-delay-battery-charger/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial) began rolling in, Samsung issued a recall (http://mashable.com/2016/09/02/samsung-**te-7-recall/?utm_campaign=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial&utm_cid=Mash-Prod-RSS-Feedburner-All-Partial) of the Galaxy **te7 that allowed customers to swap the devices for replacements.*

But **t all customers have had a chance to swap their phones. And following the news of the recall, the FAA issued a statement clarifying the guidelines of using the device on airplanes.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the FAA explained that in light of recent incidents and safety concerns, it strongly advises passengers **t use or charge the Galaxy **te7 while on board an aircraft.
