222 displaced families return to Tirah valley

BARA: The return process of the remaining displaced persons from lower parts of Tirah valley in Khyber Agency started on Thursday. A total of 222 families of Zakhakhel tribe had been sent back to Zaoddin area in lower parts Tirah valley of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on the first day of the return process. Political Agent Khyber Agency Khalid Mehmood was present on the occasion. The retuning families were gathered at the Mianga** Khwar in Kajori and then sent back to their native areas. The Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) provided food items to the returning tribespeople and made other necessary arrangements for them. The official said that the FDMA would give Rs10,000 as travel expenses and Rs25,000 for other charges through ATM card. The IDPs, who were displaced due to the operation Khyber-I against the militant organisations Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in October, 2014, were returning to native areas after two years.
