ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has asked PTI chairman Imran Khan to submit his reply in the disqualification petition filed against him by September 22.
Hearings relating to the disqualification of the Prime Minister and Captain Safdar were held on Tuesday at the Supreme Court. The disqualification references against PM Nawaz Sharif were filed by PTI, PAT, AML while a reference against Captain Safdar was filed by ANP's Bushra Gohar. Proceedings were conducted by a five-member commission headed by Chief Election Commission Sardar Raza.
Former Attorney General Salman Iqbal has requested time to submit a reply from his clients PM Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar while Captain Safdar's legal representative submitted his reply.
In the petition field against PTI chief Imran Khan and Jahangir Tarin, it was stated that Imran had wrongfully concealed an offshore company of his by the name of Niazi Services and had lied to the Election Commission. In the reference against Jahangir Tarin it was stated that the senior party leader had **t disclosed true information in his **mination papers. Both petitions called for Imran Khan and Jahangir Tarin to be disqualified.
The Election Commission issued **tices pertaining to Imran Khan and Jahangir Tarin's references for September 22 and 28 respectively. A citizen's reference against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was dismissed on grounds of **t following procedure.
