Pervaiz says Lahore suffered Rs4 bn loss; Sanaullah says Imran and Qadri hell bent
on creating anarchy, instability
LAHORE: In an overt reference to the PTI and PAT, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said there was ** justification for the long marches and sit-ins, as the country was galloping on the highway of progress and prosperity.
According to a handout, the chief minister said this while talking to a delegation of the PML-N here.
Shahbaz said the PML-N government believed in the politics of service and values. “Those trying to promote anarchy and hamper the process of prosperity of the masses were enemies of Pakistan. In a democratic set-up, decisions are taken in parliament, **t on roads,” he said.
The chief minister said politics of agitation had already caused a huge loss to the country and there was ** justification for it at a time when the country was moving towards progress and prosperity.
“Those involved in negative politics are averse to the progress of the country and prosperity of the masses. The people of Pakistan are fully aware who is serving them and who is trying to create anarchy.”
Shahbaz said elements involved in politics of agitation were bent upon wasting the precious time of the nation once again and the aim of their undue protest was to stop the process of speedy development.
He said those trying to create anarchy wanted to push the country into darkness but the politically-conscious people of Pakistan had rejected them through the power of vote on every occasion.
He said the elements engaged in negative politics were afraid of the popularity of PML-N, as under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif it had set records of public service.
He said the elements staging protests feared that completion of energy and other development projects would bury their politics for good.
The chief minister said the government was determined to ensure a prosperous future for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid said the political adventures of PTI and PAT had dealt a loss of Rs4 billion to Lahore besides loss of precious lives.
Talking to the media in Lahore on Saturday night, he said Lahore suffered Rs4 billion loss in daily business. He said the City District Government of Rawalpindi had spent Rs5 million on security arrangements.
He said the metro bus service suffered Rs1 million loss adding that billions of rupees had been incurred on the police deployment at both the places.
The minister said both the parties had been asked to arrange their processions at isolated places to avoid inconvenience to the people.
APP adds: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, meanwhile, said Imran Khan wanted to destroy the country’s eco**my through his negative politics.
He said the government was determined to make Pakistan eco**mically healthier and prosperous but some elements had bent upon hindering the development process.
Rana Sana added that the people had rejected the negative politics of Imran Khan.
Talking to media men at the DGPR, he said in the entire world, routes for rallies were decided amicably, adding that the district administration Lahore had requested the PTI leadership to hold its public meeting at Shahdara but they paid ** heed to their plea.
“Therefore, keeping in view the terrorist attacks in Christian Colony Peshawar and District Courts Mardan and authentic reports from intelligence agencies, the administration had to take security measures and cordoned off the route of the PTI rally.”
He said neither the PTI **r PAT cooperated with the government, which had cautioned both the parties about the security threat.
Rana Sana said both PTI chairman and PAT chief were hell bent upon creating anarchy and instability at the behest of foreign masters. He said at a time when the country was advancing towards progress and mega development projects were being completed, there was ** justification of protests and rallies.
He said the elements, who did **t want to see Pakistan a developed nation, were creating impediments but the journey of making Pakistan stronger would continue under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
