The ancient city of Jerusalem is home to holy sites of great significance to numerous religions.*With an elevation of just under 2,500 feet, it is also subject to diverse weather conditions, with hot and dry summers, mild winters and even the occasional s**w flurry.
These photos capture a particularly heavy s**wfall during the winter of 1921, when Jerusalem was the British-administered capital of the recently created Mandatory Palestine.
