Public help key to control crime: DPO

MUZAFFARGARH: District Police ******r (DPO) Awais Ahmed Malik Tuesday said cooperation of public is essential to control crime.
Talking to The News at his ******, the DPO said it is basic duty of police to protect life and property to masses and police alone can**t do so. He said the police with limited resources are doing well to decrease crime ratio. He directed SHOs to ensure registration of case without any delay, saying delay in registration of case would **t be tolerated.
The DPO said a plan to eliminate crime from the district had been finalised. Awais said during the last year police recovered a huge cache of arms and ***** and arrested POs and gang members.
SACRIFICIAL ANIMALS HIDES: District administration and police authorities have increased its monitoring to prevent donation of sacrificial animals’ hides falling in hands of militants and anti-state elements. Strict instructions from the government have been issued in connection with collecting hides. EDO (CD) Ghulam Abbas Soomro said civil and intelligence agencies officials are visiting various seminaries and mosques to verify their credentials.
