Akhand Paat ritual held

NANKANA SAHIB: Sikh Sangat Pakistan held a ceremony regarding completion of 412 years of their holy book Guru Granth Sahib at Gurdawara Janmasthan Nankana on Tuesday.

The ritual called Akhand Paat was held and solidarity of the country was stressed in the prayer.

A large number of Sikh men, women and children were also present on the occasion. The main event is scheduled on Wednesday (today) where Pakistan Sikh Gurdawara Parbanhak Committee chairman Sardar Tara Singh and MPA Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora would speak.

TRAINING FOR JOURNALISTS: An NGO held a two-day training session for journalists at a hotel at city Nankana on Tuesday.

Addressing the participants, trainer Kurram Badr said media plays a vital role in establishment of democracy and independent society. He said reports indicate that Pakistan has become a dangerous country for journalists.

Journalists were given useful tips for their safety.

Press Club Nankana president Chaudhry Afzal Haq and a large number of journalists attended the training session.
