With a new carpool service, Google is accelerating in its quest to take on Uber

Google is working fast and furiously on its next big step to take on ride-hailing app Uber.*
The tech**logy giant, under parent Alphabet, is building a new service that connects commuters for the potential of carpooling, The Wall Street Journal reported (http://www.wsj.com/articles/google-takes-on-uber-with-new-ride-share-service-1472584235) Tuesday via an a**nymous source familiar with the matter.*
The service will be a part the Google-owned Waze app, which currently provides drivers with driving directions and community-sourced traffic information. It is expected to be available in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area this fall.*
