Swat girl commits suicide

MINGORA: A girl ended her life by taking poiso**us pills in Kabal tehsil in Swat district on Saturday, official sources said.They said that 17-year old girl committed suicide over some domestic issue at Khem Darra in Kabal area. The body, after autopsy in the hospital, was handed over to the family members for burial.The police registered the case and started an investigation.
KP govt launches blood transfusion centre

PESHAWAR: The first safe blood transfusion centre of the provincial government has started functioning in the provincial capital. The Regional Blood Centre (RBC) in Hayatabad has been set up under the Safe Blood Transfusion Project – a joint venture of the Federal Republic of Germany and the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a total cost of Rs190 million.
This was revealed in a briefing given to media persons at RBC on Saturday. Provincial secretary health Muhammad Abid Majeed and other concerned high ups of Health Department were also present on the occasion, said a handout.
Seven injured in Gujranwala as roof caves in

GUJRANWALA: Seven people, including four children, were injured when a roof of a house caved in due to thunderstorm at Sheikh Rajawa on Sunday. The roof of the house of Muhammad Hussain collapsed due to thunderstorm. As a result, seven people, including Sumera, 25, Nadia, 9, and Ali, 3, were injured and buried under the debris. Later, people pulled them out and shifted them to the DHQ Hospital. Meanwhile, a man died while seven others injured in separate road accidents here on Sunday. An unidentified man was crossing a road when a speeding tractor-trolley crushed him to death at Butranwali. Likewise, Zahid, Danish, Arif, Shahbaz, Sami, Azam and Faisal were injured in different road accidents.
Shopkeeper gunned down in Mohmand Agency

GHALLANI: An off-duty Levies man allegedly killed a shopkeeper in Chanda bazaar here on Sunday, official sources said. Sources said that a shopkeeper identified as Shamshad was sleeping outside his shop in Chanda bazaar of Halimzai tehsil when an off-duty Levies man Saddam allegedly opened fire, killing him on the spot.
The motive behind the killing could **t be ascertained. Meanwhile, political administration arrested brother of the accused under collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR). Political administration also carried out raids for the arrest of the accused. Elders of the area in a jirga also solicited a ceasefire agreement between the relatives of the rival parties for 20 days.

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested two TMA officials on the charges of corruption here on Friday. In an application, Gujrat TMA daily wager Waheed alleged that Supervisor Khalid Pervez and Sanitary Inspector Allah Rakha had received Rs 40,000 bribe from him and **w they were demanding more bribe to regularise his job. ACE Circle ******r Rana Nawaz along with Special Magistrate raided the TMA ****** and held the two officials when they were allegedly receiving Rs 22,000 bribe from the applicant. A case has been registered.
Three people die in Bannu

BANNU: Three persons, including two mi**r girls died, in separate incidents here on Sunday, official sources said. In the first incident, a 35-year-old man identified as Maqsood Ali, was run over by a speeding mini-pickup truck. He was killed on the spot. The driver fled the crime scene. Hazrat Ali, brother of the deceased, got registered a case against unidentified driver. Separately, two mi**r girls identified as Amna, 4, and Naila, 5, died in the limits of Janikhel Police Station after drowning in a pond in their house. According to the family sources, both mi**rs were taking bath in the pond when they drowned.
12-year-old goes missing in Bannu

BANNU: A seventh grade student mysteriously went missing while on his way to school four days ago, according to the family sources. Mushtaq, father of the 12-year-old Hamza, told reporters on Saturday that his son has been missing for the last four days. He added that they had last seen their son four days ago while he was going to school. The grieving father appealed to the general public to inform the family on mobile number 03348827540 if any clue to the missing boy was found.

FAISALABAD: Two people, including a doctor, were killed over litigation at Batala Colony. Dr Sohail Haroon was a litigant in the divorce case of his niece Afshan. On Thursday night, two assailants, including Shan Yaqoob, allegedly opened fire on Sohail. As a result, Sohail was killed on the spot. Shan, one of the two accused, was also killed in the attack. Police are investigating.
