ISLAMABAD: Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Secretary General Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffary on Sunday an**unced that a historic sit-in would be staged before the Punjab Chief Minister’s House on September 2, if the government did **t fulfill its demands, which it had promised.
Talking to a group of media persons here, he said that the MWM had ** political motive or agenda behind its planned sit-in and that they also had **t formed any alliance with others for agitation against the rulers.
However, he maintained that they would consider various options, including formation of alliance with other parties, if the provincial government did **t pay heed to their demands.“I had ended my hunger strike after 86 days on the assurances given by Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, who had promised to get the MWM’s demands implemented,” he recalled.
He said if the interior minister failed to realise his promise, then it would be construed, **ne in the government listened to him and that they would also stop trusting the federal government.Allama Nasir alleged that the target killing of Shias, particularly professionals, including doctors, professors and lawyers continued unabated and the other day, lawyer Nasir Ali Turabi was shot dead in Lahore.
He said that they would stage the proposed sit-in peacefully without creating trouble for others, but cautioned that if the government or any other element, tried to create hurdles in their programme, then the provincial government would be responsible for the situation.
