CJ Mansoor Ali Shah says court backlog increasing
because of government departments’ disinterest
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah Saturday said the number of cases pending with the high court were on the rise due to the lack of interest of government departments adding that the Punjab government should appoint senior focal persons for all departments.
A meeting under the chairmanship of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was held here on Saturday.
Punjab Chief Secretary, Advocate General Punjab, home secretary and other ******rs attended the meeting.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah said there were a number of cases which could have been resolved at the departmental level but the departments paid ** interest in this regard and all the pressure came to the courts.
Shah said he did **t intend to call heads of provincial departments and ordered that senior focal persons be appointed for all provincial departments.
He further said special courts should also be made functional along with the district courts.
The chief secretary assured Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of complete cooperation.
