KARACHI: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, on Thursday took **tice of **n-implementation of the court orders in the Al-Habib Cooperative Housing Society case and warned that officials who were **t implementing the court orders would be sent to jail.
Hearing a human rights case regarding misappropriation of funds of the society, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, inquired from the law ******r why court orders in the case were **t being implemented and why the registrar of the cooperative society did **t appear before the court despite issuance of a **tice.
The court observed that the court passed orders in accordance with the law, but unfortunately the same were **t implemented in letter and spirit.
The court observed that those officials who were **t implementing the court orders would either be sent to jail or they had to resign from their posts.
Applicant Athar Alam submitted that amenity plots in the society had been commercialised by the society officials which was causing hardships to the residents of the society. The registrar of the society later appeared before the court and requested time to submit a detailed report in compliance with the court directives. The court directed the registrar of the society to submit a detailed report with regard to implementation of the court orders on the next date of hearing.
