Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and NHSCR Ministry have unanimously decided to advertise central test soon for admission to both public and private medical and dental colleges in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Also, only the students taking the test will be eligible for such admission.The decision was made during a meeting chaired by NHSCR Minister Saira Afzal Tarar and attended by vice-chancellors of federal chartered universities, principals of public and private medical and dental colleges, and PMDC representatives here.
The participants said the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to medical and dental colleges should be 70 per cent in FSc exam instead of the current 60 per cent. They decided that there would be a uniform admission policy for both public and private medical and dental colleges at federal level.Earlier, Director General (health) Dr Asad Hafeez briefed participants about the key areas on the central test for admission.
