In a surprise an**uncement, Uber is claiming that its self-driving cars will begin operation in just a few weeks.
Uber CEO Travis Kalanick told Bloomberg Businessweek (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2016-08-18/uber-s-first-self-driving-fleet-arrives-in-pittsburgh-this-month-is06r7on?utm_content=business&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&cmpid%3D=socialflow-facebook-business) that the company is just about ready to roll out its first driverless, auto**mous cars later this month in Pittsburgh.*
The cars will be a heavily modified Volvo XC90 SUVs. The cars will still have drivers supervising the rides. ** word on whether you'll have to rate those drivers.

In the interview, Kalanick also revealed that Uber has acquired Otto (https://www.trucks.com/2016/08/16/otto-auto**mous-truck-tech/), a company that was working on auto**mous big-rig trucks.
