ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will preside over a**ther National Action Plan meeting on Thursday to discuss its implementation.
Today's meeting pertaining to the implementation of the National Action Plan will be conducted at the Prime Minister House. Sources disclosed that points which were left incomplete in Tuesday's meeting would be discussed and additional points of the plan would also be deliberated upon. During the meeting, the Premier would also be briefed on Operation Zarb-e-Azb and anti-terrorist operations that have been conducted.
It is also expected that consultations would be held and practical steps to speed action against terrorists and their facilitators at the provincial level would also be discussed. During the previous day's meeting, it was decided that the federal government would provide provincial governments with all necessary resources to ensure implementation on the National Action Plan. It was also decided in Tuesday's meeting to further strengthen and improve the intelligence mechanism in the country.
The PM had advised all intelligence agencies to consult provincial governments in order to in Tuesday's meetings. During the briefings, the Prime Minister was informed by senior intelligence officials that a foreign hand was involved in various terror attacks and important evidence had also been found pertaining to sabotaging the China-Pakistan Eco**mic Corridor.
The suicide bomb blast on Monday at the Civil Hospital Quetta sent the country into shock and despair. More than seventy people had been killed and scores had been injured after a suicide bomber blew himself up in the hospital and gunfire followed after that. Islamic State (Daesh) group claimed responsibility for the ghastly attack.
