Starring Riz Ahmed as Nasir “Naz” Khan, the HBO mini ****** is an e**rmous success and has been the talk of town since it first aired.
CULTURE VULTURE
From TV shows to homeware, here’s what we’re lusting after this week…
Over the course of the week, we at Instep come across various items and events that strike our fancy. In fact you might even call it an occupational hazard; our wish list is perpetually increasing, whether it’s with the addition of new TV ****** that we don’t have time to watch or a clothing item that probably costs more than our entire house. But just because we might **t necessarily have the time (or money) to indulge doesn’t mean one of you can’t. Here’s hoping we can live vicariously through you!
The Night Of
Rated 95 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and 90 on Metacritic, The Night Of is an HBO original mini****** and one of the most critically acclaimed shows to release this year. It isn’t hard to fathom why; this is one the posthumous works of James Gandolfini, the titular character from the iconic The Sopra**s to come out. It also stars Riz Ahmed of Four Lions fame as the lead and is a New York based crime thriller with social and political undertones.

Fans of gritty television who found the philosophical, sparse world of True Detective (Season 1) appealing should definitely opt for it. Plus Riz Ahmed is quite effective in this breakout role.
Zari Saree from Diva’Ni
We have a new couture obsession courtesy Diva’Ni: gold thread sarees. The brand has an entire collection of apparel made entirely from zari and the result is so dreamy that it leaves us swooning and at a loss for words. The sarees have an iridescent sheen and change colour in different lights. The effect is ethereal and even though the saree looks light weight, holding it up make you realise that it’s quite heavy and that’s just the weight of gold used in it.
