iKeyp for Safe At-Home Storage of Sensitive Medications

Thanks to poorly thought-out regulatory changes, Americans are going head over heels for*prescription opioids, and so a chronic pain patient’s drug cabinet is ** longer safe from addicted family members. To help protect the stash,*Solo Tech**logy Holdings plans on releasing a smart electronic safe that can also assist in managing patient’s daily drug regimen.
The iKeyp stores up to eight standard sized pill bottles that are protected behind a passcode keypad. In case the password is forgotten, an accompanying key will still open up the safe.
The safe is connected to the Internet through the person’s at-home WiFi connection, sending out alerts to the user’s smartphone app whenever there’s an unexpected attempt at accessing the device. Moreover, the same app provides medication reminders and can be used to set the system to send out reminders via text or emails, even to people other than the user.
The iKeyp is **t for sale yet and is expected to initially become available via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo this fall.
