On behalf of the chief minister, Adviser on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique gave away a cheque for Rs 5 million to Dr Sadia widow of Dr Sagheer Sameeja of Bahawal Victoria Hosptial, Bahawalpur, at her residence.
Dr Sameeja had died after contracting Congo virus during surgery of a student nurse of DHQ Hospital, Lodhran, at BVH.
According to a handout issued here on Tuesday, Khawaja Salman Rafique expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. The adviser lauded the services of Dr Sagheer who sacrificed his life while serving the humanity.
Khawaja Salman an**unced allotment of Dr Sagher’s official residence to his widow for 25 years.
Dr Sadia is working in the pathology department of Quaid-e Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur. Khawaja Salman also an**unced confirmation of Dr Sadia as assistant professor and employment for the brother of the late doctor.
Health Special Secretary Dr Sajid Mehmood Chohan, Bahawlpur Commissioner Saqib Zafar, QMC Principal Professor Dr Khawaja Harron Pasha and BVH MS Dr Shahid Faraz were also present.
