City District Government Lahore arrested 103 shopkeepers for overcharging Tuesday out of which 32 were sent to jail.
The officials said price control magistrates raided 982 spots and arrested 103 shopkeepers out of which 32 were sent to jail. The magistrates imposed a fine of Rs 24,500 on them while cases were also registered against many shopkeepers. Meanwhile, DCO directed all the CDGL staffers to display National Flag badges on their chests while performing official duties in the provincial capital. He directed the senior ******rs to check implementation of his directives and take disciplinary action against violators.
Found dead: A 28-year-old man, unidentified so far, was found dead in the Gujjarpura police area. Passers-by spotted his body lying beside GT Road. Police said that the man looked an addict and he might have died of an overdose of *****. wheelie: A large-scale awareness campaign against wheelie was launched by Lahore Police on Tuesday.
The CCPO gave green light to an anti-wheelie float which will travel around the city, imparting information to citizens regarding the dangers of wheelie. The CCPO also participated in the distribution of pamphlets along with the Lahore CTO and SP City.
Talking to the media, the CCPO said wheelie was a dangerous act and a hei**us crime which put the lives of the perpetrators and others at great risk. He said it must be stopped as soon as possible.
