91-year-old has knitted more than 8,000 hats for the homeless

In news that will warm you to your icy core, this 91-year-old hospice patient has spent the past 15 years knitting hats for the homeless.

WXMI reports (http://fox17online.com/2016/08/07/91-year-old-man-in-hospice-care-knits-hats-for-the-homeless/) that Morrie Boogart of Grandville, Michigan — who suffers from skin cancer and a growth on his kidney — spends his days knitting in his bed at a local hospice center. Since picking up the craft, he says he's knitted well over 8,000 caps.
Boogart says it takes him about two days to finish a hat using his knitting loom and the pile of yarn he keeps by his bed. In October, his hats will be ready for shelter delivery. Read more...
