LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed has challenged "objectionable" ads on television in the Lahore High Court through a writ petition.
Rasheed says in the petition that it is the duty of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) to stop "immoral" content on television but it had miserably failed to fulfill its duty. He points out that the court had also directed the Pemra to stop immoral content on electronic media but the authority did **t follow it.
The petitioner has prayed the court to order the Pemar to prevent objectionable advertisement on television in line with its order.
