ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has expressed its strong reservations on the media reports of participation of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in exercise in the United States where Israel is also participating and sought the policy statement on this issue from the defense minister.
Raising the issue on a point of order, Dr Shireen Mazari expressed her concerns on the media reports that PAF was participating in joint exercise in the Nevada in the United States where Israel was also participating. “The defense minister should give explanation to the parliament whether these news reports are correct and if yes then why the PAF was doing the exercise in the Nevada and whether it was on pressure of the United States,” she said.
She said the Pentagon has stopped Pakistan military aid of $300 million and asking question from Pakistan that whether “we are their friends or **t”. “The United States has taken anti-Pakistan stances and we are participating in the joint exercise in Nevada,” she added,
NA Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbassi directed Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab to communicate concerns of the legislators to the defense minister. The NA passed the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finance) (Amendment Bill, 2016), which was already passed by the Senate. Parliamentary Secretary on Finance Rana Afzal moved the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finance) (Amendment Bill, 2016). The proposed amendments are meant to facilitate recovery process of bank loans so that loan defaults and incidence of written off loans could be minimised.
