It used to be a big deal but the 100 crore club is a thing of the past **w. “Been there and done that,” producers must be thinking because crossing 100 crores at the box ****** is ** longer a benchmark for a film being a whopping success. 300 crores is the new landmark and apparently it comes with huge benefits for the stars. Let us rephrase that. Crossing 300 crores will bring great benefits currently for Salman Khan; Sultan, however, is stuck at 297 crores.

Salman Khan fans claim that the film’s producers Yash Raj Films are playing down the numbers. On Thursday they even started the hashtag #YRFStopReducingSULTANFigures trend on Twitter. They claim that Salman has a deal with YRF wherein he will get a big share of profit if the India business is over Rs 300 crore, according to entertainment website FilmiBeat. These deals are common, especially with the Khans. Bajrangi Bhaijaan crossed 300 crores comfortably and trade analysts had predicted that Sultan would as well. The producers are claiming otherwise which is odd because why would a producer downplay the success of his own film? The answer lies in monetary gains, we guess.

Meanwhile, the 300 club is a privileged space. So far only two films have made the cut: Rajkumar Hirani’s PK and Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan; these films have put Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in that club with, we suspect, the rest eying the spot lustfully.
