LAHORE: Partly cloudy weather prevailed in the provincial capital on Thursday while for today Met ****** forecast isolated heavy rain. Met officials predicted rain-thunderstorm at a few places in Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal divisions, FATA and Kashmir.
They predicted rain-thunderstorm, with isolated heavy falls, at scattered places in Sindh (Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Karachi divisions), South Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan divisions), Lower KP (DI Khan, Bannu divisions) and Eastern Balochistan (Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions).
Met officials said monsoon currents were penetrating southern parts while weak monsoon currents were penetrating upper parts of the country.On Thursday, rainfall was recorded in several cities, including Diplo (100 mm), Chachro and Thatta (44 mm), Badin (43 mm), Mirpurkhas (31 mm), Hyderabad (27 mm), Chhor (23 mm), Mithi (14 mm), Dhaheli (06 mm), Dadu (03 mm), Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Islamkot (02 mm), Kot Addu (49 mm), Multan (05 mm), Layyah (04 mm), Khanpur and Bahawalpur (02 mm), Barkhan (04 mm), Parachinar (10 mm), Kalam (03 mm), Lower Dir (02 mm) and Gilgit (01 mm).
Highest temperature in the country was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 43°C while in Lahore maximum temperature was 36 C and humidity was 56 percent.
