ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the case of irregularities in the party funds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received from abroad till August 17 due to the **n-appearance of PTI’s counsel.
A five-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan resumed hearing the case filed by PTI’s former information secretary Akbar S Babar who had alleged corruption and violation of laws in collection of donations from overseas Pakistanis and managing party funds for the PTI.
During the course of hearing counsel for Akbar Babar apprised the bench that the Commission should take action against the respondents as their counsel was continuously avoiding his appearance in the case. However the bench adjourned the matter till August 17.
