Says he will follow party policies
KARACHI: The Chief Minister-designate of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, said on Wednesday that the issue regarding an extension in the terms of stay of the Sindh Rangers in the province and its special policing powers in Karachi had been resolved.
He was talking to newsmen during his meeting with the spiritual leader of the Sarwari Jamaat, Makhdoom Jameeluzzaman, at his residence in Karachi.
The CM-designate said that his foremost priority after assuming the ****** of the chief minister would be to restore peace in Karachi and in the rest of the province. He said that the targeted operation in Karachi would only be successful when all the stakeholders played their due role.
The role of civilian institutions had to be strengthened. He said that giving special powers to Sindh Rangers was the need of the hour.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that there had been ** differences among those associated with the PPP. He said he would act in accordance with the party policies.
He said that all the lawmakers of the People’s Party in Sindh Assembly had supported his **mination for the ****** of the chief minister.
Murad Ali Shah said that he would take along all the political parties for resolution of problems of the province. The **minated CM said that he would try to get support of every person of the province.
Shah said that he would get the vote of confidence from the Sindh Assembly this Friday and on the same day he would take the oath as the new chief minister of the province. He said that consultation process was on for a new cabinet.
To a question, he said that every political party having representation in the provincial assembly had the right to contest the election for the chief minister. He said he would an**unce his policy and priorities for governance in the province in his address at the Sindh Assembly after getting elected.
